Interwoven Horizons

In an era where algorithms reshape perception and diverse cultures converge, how should we redefine "perception" and rethink "creation"? The 13th "From Lausanne to Beijing" International Fiber Art Biennale, themed "Interwoven Horizons," focuses on the intricate interconnected relationships between humans and the environment in the future world.
"Interwoven Visions" transcends the material limitations of traditional
"interweaving," pointing toward the construction of a deeper perceptual community.
It represents a shared perceptual field among multiple species, a differentiated manifestation of the world through diverse cognitive subjects, and more profoundly, a shift in worldview-characterized by synergy, perception, generation, and restoration. With the involvement of emerging forces such as artificial intelligence, biomaterials, and ecological regeneration, fiber art, as a medium closest to the body, land, and time, has become a vital channel connecting the organic and inorganic, tradition and future, and the individual and the system.

"Renewal" not only refers to technological transformations but, more profoundly, signifies a cross-sensory and cross-cultural reconstruction of the world. It is neither a linear progression nor a utopian vision, but a composite structure continuously evolving through entanglement and rupture. Within such a structure, fiber, as a thread of action, activates the reconfiguration of perception and propels art to become one of the languages of future collaboration and regeneration.

"Interwoven Horizons" invites artists to take fiber as a medium to re-explore the relationships between "craftsmanship," "collaboration," "life," and "creation," and to initiate new paradigms of perception and creation in the age of artificial intelligence.

The Ephemeral Nature of the Moment

Material: Bronce mesh, copper wire and décolletage (small parts of watches)
Technique: Colouring through heat (oxidation), partly melted

In my artistic practice, I explore the complex transformations that ocour during periods of rapid societal change. My current work focuses on capturing the ephemeral nature of the moment. This series, made of metal mesh, functions like sensory interfaces-permeable membranes between inside and outside, between the self and the world. They embody identities shaped by sensations, emotions, and memories. My work does not speak through explicit statements, but instead quietly reaches the viewer through subtle, exploratory hints.
